CULTURE COMMISSIONER URGES STAFFERS TO SHOW COMMITMENT AT WORK


Staffers in the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism have been encouraged to be more committed and diligent in the discharge of their official duties, as this would result in a better overall performance to the State and also makes them stand before kings and not mean men.
The Commissioner in the Ministry, Hon.Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo gave the charge during the thanksgiving and devotional prayer session for the Ministry and the State at large, held at June 12 Cultural Center, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Adeleye-Oladapo urges them to be team players, committed and dedicated to work with or without supervision, saying this act would elevate them, promote the Ministry, as well as move the State forward.
The Commissioner, who pledges her continuous efforts at ensuring that all staff whether temporary or permanent are well-motivated and provided adequate tools to work with, told them to be united and work in synergy with each other to achieve their desired goals.
In his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Olusegun Olaotan said the gathering is an avenue for the Ministry to give thanks to God for what He did in the previous year and also to commit the new year unto him, to lead and direct their parts.
Giving their words of extortions, Messer Michael Ogunjobi and Baaki Yunus from Matthew 12 and Quran 3 verse 104 respectively, said there is a need to trust in God and not lean on one understanding, love and forgive one another, be lenient to each other, have a repentant heart and be dedicated to work, as these are what would bring about a peaceful and friendly work environment.
Responding on behalf of the staff, the Chairman, Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Ministry of Culture and Tourism chapter, Mr. Gbenga Fagbenro appreciated the Commissioner for her efforts in elevating the Ministry, while promising that they would not relent in ensuring the State’s Culture and Tourism sector would be the best among the comity of States.
Prayers were rendered for the Ministry, the State and Nigeria, while January birthday celebrants were also celebrated.
